How’d you reach this conclusion? I don’t think so. That he hasn’t said anything publicly since the deal was made doesn’t mean he’s in hiding.
The reality is, Lee, DeMint, Paul, and the handful of other Tea Party Conservatives can attempt to filibuster — but we all know that the Senate is full of RINO’s who just want to get this deal done and put this behind them. They’ll find enough votes — 7+ — for cloture.
It really doesn’t matter what Lee — or DeMint, Paul or any of the others say at this point. It is a fait accompli. They know it. Stand, yes. Object, yes. But understand, this battle is already lost. It was lost Friday, when Boehner stuck a knife in our back and twisted it — and took all but 22 Republicans with him.
Keep you powder dry, save the ammunition you’ve got left — and wait for a more opportune moment. They took this hill.
I like this upstart conservative that likes to filibuster because the Tea Partiers may very well fail to do their research on Perry and we may need alot of filibuster diehards to block a guest-worker amnesty bill or DREAM ACT put up by a potential Perry president.
