How can people claim on the one hand that the long term spending cuts will never happen but the deal binds all future congresses to let the Bush tax cuts expire. The next Congress is not bound by the promises of previous Congresses. We have to fight and whittle away at the debt every election cycle v

Bush tax cuts expire The Bush tax cuts expire on their own. Unless Congress votes to renew them, the tax rates go back up to where they were before Bush became president.

The bush tax cuts had an agreed upon date for them to expire, it was part of the law when they ended. And any law pertaining to the future can be changed by a future congress. The big question is why has no one in congress, since 1974, has attempted to do away with the bogus base line budget. The answer is they are afraid of the media and charges they are stealing from the poor. Catch 22:
