If we want to save the counry, we have to win the White House and Senate next year. Until then, we have to cut the best deal we can.
we don’t need the whitehouse and we likely won’t win it. the Senate, however, is a other story. gotta watch the PR backlash over this debt crisis though or it may bite us in the butt with the unsavvy middle of the road voters.
Agreed, as long as the house reviews the structure and rules of this commission and the fall back triggers, and makes sure it is not structured to bite us in the butt later, it makes sense to get the best deal possible, move on to the 2012 budget and 2012 election.
The best deal we can get?
A straight debt ceiling increase might have been better, time will tell
You are right.. Hard to do what we want when we control 1/3 of the Government..
“if we want to save the counry, we have to win the White House and Senate next year. Until then, we have to cut the best deal we can.”
No way. If we want to save the usa we need to draw a line now. Derail this “deal” and blow the whol thing up. We need aclean slate.
As reported so far, this is not a deal. This is “fantasy governing.” One trillion in cuts over 10 years is a farce. The debt still increases.
I hope the tea party congressmen stick to their guns. Because this package is smoke and mirrors...and an insult.
Why? Why are you caving? Who has gotten to you?
I agree.
Job One is to get rid of Obama.
in the meantime,
we have to play the cards we are dealt.
