There is NO debt deal yet. The House has not voted yet.

Its not over. There has NOT been a deal yet. There is only agreement between the "leaders" of the Senate and the "leaders" of the House. The House of Representatives has not voted on it yet. There are military cuts. Your children and grandchildren will be indebted forever. The Balanced Budget Amendment will be destroyed. Boehner will give equal decisions on this Bill to committee democRATs such as Pelosi.
There is still time to stop this monstrosity that will destroy America by calling your representative and telling them they will be PRIMARIED out of their job next election if they support raising the debt ceiling.

Did you forget what forum you are posting to?
I posted to News and Activism. As this topic entails activism therefore, I believe this is the appropriate forum. If this topic is not activism, I apologize.
Contrary to what you must think, the members of this site do not arrive here every day riding on the short bus.
Contrary to your professed mind reading abilities, I have profound respect for FR members although my opinions may and do vary on some topics. As I have done in this case, I actively seek their opinions and feedback. They matter.

The immediate cuts in spending amount to one day of Federal spending.
Low income programs are protected from any cuts.

Do you really think that anybody here needed to be reminded that this so called "deal" has yet to be passed through any legislative body?
The idea that you thought we needed to be educated as to that fact didn't show much in the way of respect for FR's members.
When I used the term "forum" it meant FR as a whole.
The DU board or the QVC board might need some reminding about the current status of this matter, we don't.

Butt first, we should each grab our own ankles and take it like a man... or perhaps not.

Respectfully, I posted an opinion, not a reminder. The MSM, including WABC 770 AM News in NYC, and Yahoo.com News presents this as a done deal.
Unlike yourself, I don't claim to speak for others. I do however, seek others' opinions. Thanks for providing yours.

...unless the number of Dem and RINO votes is so great that it passes this bill.
Better to stop this then try to play political games that have a good chance of backfiring.

Today The Government Has Stolen Your Shovel, Taxed Your Asses, Raised The Price Of Camels And Mortgaged The Promised Land To China.

Tax burden shifted to lower incomes. (Numbers for illustrative purposes only.)
To: McGruff
John Kerry said that this quote from Senator Obama in 2006 about raising the debt ceiling then is not important. He said that it was a symbolic statement by the Senator from Illinois, because everyone knew, per John Kerry, that the vote would be to lift the debt ceiling. So , per John Kerry, the vote of Senator Obama didn’t matter and didn’t change anything.
What does that tell us about how Congress does business? At least in the case of Democrats then, we can never go back to what they said or how they voted, because there is always going to be some reason why the position they took on an issue then does not apply today.

Are you saying that lower wage earners will now be paying taxes?

I'm saying, contrary to the left's propaganda, that an across the board tax cut makes the tax code more progressive. Conversely, not extending the Bush across the board tax cuts will make the tax code less progressive.
