“Top anti-’birther’ confirmed to be ex-Fannie Mae chief”

How exactly was anything “confirmed” here? From looking at the article, Corsi’s only sources appear to be the claims of a Bigfoot hunter and a handful of what look like sarcastic comments from ‘Foggy.’ And he even quotes a direct denial from the guy he previously said WAS Jimbot.

And is it just me, or is it bad journalism to publicly declare that an online identity has been “confirmed” without making a concerted effort to get a comment from the real James Johnson?

I don't think it's just you.

Quoting Corsi himself: "NeonZX admitted that he was JimBot, but denied that he was James Johnson, offering as proof an appearance he had made on Hale's Plains Radio show, speaking in a youthful voice clearly distinguishable from Johnson's more mature voice."

Yet the title of the article is, "Top anti-'birther' confirmed to be ex-Fannie Mae chief."
