Through the years, dozens of cuts have been announced, but not to happen immediately. Oh no! They are always to happen over at least a decade. Therefore, they never happen. The congress of any particular year cannot dictate to a FUTURE congress how THEY should spend money.
The proof that the cuts never happen? After at least a dozen budgets wherein multiplied billions were supposed to be cut....mostly over ten years....HAS THE BUDGET OR THE DEFICIT GOTTEN ANY SMALLER?! Is the Pope a Mormon?!
It reminds me of how my wife used to come home from work and say, “That darn Maybelle Clappsaddle; lost another 3 lbs. last week! I wish I knew how she does it!” The following week, Maybelle would have another supposed loss. And this went on for YEARS.
Finally one day I could take it no longer. I told my wife to stop believing that crap Maybelle was spreading. I said, “Do you realize that if every one of Maybelle’s claimed weight losses had been true, she would have DISAPPEARED a year ago!”
Same situation with all the promised savings of at least 40 years. If they had actually taken place, we would NOT be in hock $17 Trillion.....and with this latest cave-in of the GOP giving Obluffer another $3 Trillion, we are as good as in excess of $20 Trillion in hock....mostly to the ChiComs! And that isn’t all. The total UNFUNDED LIABILITIES tab our Congress and Senate have committed us to is somewhere in the neighborhood of $70 Trillion! Sleep tight.
