And, like it or not, these publications remain influential in the power elite circles.

As do the NYT, WaPo, and most of the MSM in the US, which is decidedly left leaning.

If the German public wants more democracy, then they should start by turfing out the current political elite, as the Tea Party has started to do here.

There is more diversity of political opinion represented in the German parliament than there is in the US Congress. Our system is weighted in favor of the two party system. There are 6 political parties in the Bundestag. And even more parties represented in the state parliaments. I don't believe there is a lack of democracy in Germany, which is a federal republic.

List of political parties in Germany

Yeah,, but those parties are all slightly different flavors of the same socialist ice cream. They are a socialist nation that has rejected their violent side, yes. But they are among the most virulent socialists on earth. Most Germans i knew felt nothing but disdain for republicans,, and they look at TEA as literally an American Nazi party. Politically, germans are so screwed up, that they cannot see Obama as a budding Hitler if he could only figure out how to pass an enabling act.

Whats weird, is the way they and other euros are always obsessing over America. Americans don’t know when they have an election, and i bet 10 out of 100 know the name of their current leader. Yet, they prattle on endlessly about us, our government, claim to be experts of the constitution, etc. They are like creepy stalkers looking in the hot cheerleaders window, (thats us),, and she doesn’t even know they exist.

And also,, he was BORN in 75. He knows nothing of the road we are headed down. He was making mudpies when we paid the late 70s and early 80s interest rates. He has no idea what hell Obama is leading us into. He never looks at today and says, “hey, this is a lot like Carter,,,only worse”. So like most of his country and the EU,, and like MOST of his generation here at Harvard,,he needs to SFTU and observe. He isn’t qualified to opine.
