Medicare cuts are limited and will be taken from providers, not beneficiaries. Defense cuts will be harsher. The fear is that Repubs will be forced to accept tax increases or have the Pentagon gutted. This is nuts.

I don’t understand why Repub’s would agree to this. Automatic cuts to defense (especially if they are as large as some people fear) are a threat to our national security.

These “triggers” will ensure that repubs vote for tax increases. Dem’s won’t hesitate to hold defense spending hostage.

Why would Repub’s give 12 people in Congress so much power?
