Or it does have a meaning and people whose goal is to be part of a priveledged class backed by the force of government rather than have no priveledged class dont like mirrors. Attempting to seize private property through eminent domain so that the government can sell or lease it to commercial developers is socialism even when some official holding office as a republican tries to get away with it.
The Trans Texas Corridor scandal is not going away.
You back a socialist, and you will be called a socialist, especially by the people who worked long and hard to shut down your boy through the state legislature.
Don’t like that? Then back a conservative.
And some times yoe dont compromise, you give up a bishop and your queen, for the checkmate.
The presidency isn’t the game. At this point, it isn’t even control of the board. It is certainly a sacrificial potentiality for the long game.
So, you’re perfectly willing to render your vote completely useless. Why bother, Edd? Just stay home and save yourself the gasoline it takes to drive to the polling place. Donate the money you save to this web site.
The presidency, indeed, is not the game. The Presidency and control of both houses is the game. We need to pick our fights so we win big in 2012 so we can reverse this rot.
If Perry won the nomination, would Sarah Palin accept VP if it were offered? She has been supportive of Perry. But Marco Rubio would probably be the best running mate.
As things stand now, I routinely ridicule certain people locally for complaining about the bailouts they personally wanted. they voted McAmnesty, and they got the TARP he stands for. I also turn back whining about the Illegals if they voted either McAmnesty or Obama - obviously with Perry, that issue would absolutely be the same.
If you personally are here stumping for this socialist before the primaries, you can bet that people like me are going to tattoo that to you in the days after the next election. Even if Perry is the nominee but loses, every eminent domain abuse case that appears, I will point out that Perry supportes have no call to whine about the government behavior they stumped for. That goes with Rick Perry
I will hold you personally responsible for the policies you support through your choice of candidate.
Locally it is working, and more people are becoming willing to hold to pricipals.
You can go through life never taking a stand on principal, and I can not stop you. What I can do, is insure that you can not do so without a cost.
Consider that done.
If you look at the posts at the time Obamacare was passed you will find that I pointed out to Romneybots that they got exactly what they wanted. I din the same with more venom to people who supported him locally. That was and is not only fully justified.... it has been and will continue to be effective.
Excerpted from Phony Right Wing-everything you need to know about Perry
I am currently collecting signatures for this judge
He is building a case to overturn the Texas Dream Act
his behavior on this judge tells me everything I need to know about Perry.
Supreme Court Justice Steven Wayne Smith
Perry has made numerous appointments to the Texas courts, to commissions, to boards, etc. in his tenure as I mentioned above. One of Perrys first selections was the appointment of Xavier Rodriguez to succeed Greg Abbott on the Texas Supreme Court. Rodriguez, a self-proclaimed moderate (progressive republican) was unseated in the 2002 Republican primary by a truly constitutional conservative Steven Wayne Smith, the attorney in the Hopwood v. Texas suit in 1996, which successfully challenged affirmative action at the University of Texas Law School. Smith was elected by a comfortable margin over Democratic opposition in the 2002 general election. After his defeat, Rodriguez returned to private practice briefly before being appointed to the Federal District Court for the Western District of Texas in San Antonio by President George W. Bush.
Perry objected to Smiths tenure on the court and refused to meet with the new justice when Smith attempted to mend fences with the governor. (What does this tell you about Perry?) Perry encouraged Judge Paul Green to challenge Smith in the 2004 Republican primary. Green defeated Smith in the primary and was elected without opposition in the general election. Smith attempted a comeback in the 2006 Republican primary by challenging Justice Don Willett, another Perry appointee who was considered a conservative on the court. Smith polled 49.5 percent of the primary vote, but Willett narrowly prevailed.
According to many Texans, Steven Wayne Smith was the Robert Bork of Texas and the best Supreme Court judge they had in 50 years.
My choice for Nominee is Sarah, and always has been.
That said, I don't think she would take a VP slot again.
MrEdd, we heard this same grumbling about our Interstate Highway system in the 1950s.
Yes, I refuse to vote for anything short of my own personal definition of conservative perfection. Furthermore, I will not even vote for my perfect conservative until he or she comes down from the from the heavens and takes me by the hand and leads me to the voting booth.
If that doesn't happen, then by God I'll vote for some third party candidate who doesn't have a prayer of winning.
So what if my vote puts Obama back in the White House, I'll know my hands are clean. Damnit, I'll show them all!
-——I’ll show them all!-——
Thus showing you misunderstand the way America elects federal government officials.
Rather than have a slew of inefficient and powerless small parties, in America we have two. The two are coalitions of the small and splinter groups and a main body of thought that can agree to select candidates.
It boils down to being relevant or irrelevant. You chose which of the two is most in line with your views. If you chose neither you simultaneously choose to be irrelevant and remove your voice from the political process.

That's exactly right, oh most exalted one!
I'm glad you figured out my post without the need for having to see an attached sarcasm tag, especially the part about coming "down from the heavens and taking me by the hand". I thought that was a particularly good part, if I do say so myself! :)
romney’s sucha dork
that it leaves the door open for many others.
You mean like this? A President and the Bible
Today's socialists equate being opposed to crony capitalism within their party with being a gas bag.
If there are four candidates who engage in socialism you oppose... Romney, Perry, Gengrich, and Pawlenty that you will not hold your nose and vote for, they attempt to equate that with an impossible standard.
It isn't going to fly, and in future days when the Perrybots are tattooed with eminent domain abuse in exactly the way McCain supporters are tattooed with open borders and Romneybots are tattooed with socialized medicine no amount of rhetoric will help them.
I do not have an impossible standard or there would be no candidates that I would be willing to support on the board. The fact that there are three shows the allegation to be spurious.
So again, if you support Perry, you will be held accountable for the shenanigans attempted with the TTC scandal. Do not attempt to taking land to put a road on with taking land to put privately owned or government owned filling stations and restaurants on again - it doesn't fly because they are not the same.
