If the Republicans pick the wrong candidate — i.e. Romney — then I’m onboard for a third party, whether it’s Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, Ron Paul or whomever.

Remember, 19 years ago, Perot supporters from the Reform Party helped build Free Republic. Freepers are absolutely *not* ideologically tied to the Republican Party.

This would just show how the Pubbie party is so entrenched in elitism. You better believe that a 3rd party would rise. Probably not enough to beat Big Ears but then when & where do you draw the line. I've heard for decades with the saying - just wait until next election. I'm done with their procrastination. 1st kick Boner out of the leadership, win the Senate & put primary candidates up against these RINOs. Lose the seat if necessary but DO NOT support a RINO. As these libs have done - it's our way or the highway. Now is our time for the same, whether that upsets the likes of Laura Ingraham, who I've lost a lot of support for because I had her way up on my list. Say No & Hell No to these libs & RINOs.

Pretty much the only way I'd even consider voting 3rd party is if I was certain it would replace the Republican party almost immediately. Other than that, no. Like it or not our winner take all system basically allows for only 2 major party's and I'm not going to waste my vote on 3rd party's that can't win and only serve to divide the right of center vote. We don't have the option of coalition government, so if the right of center vote split, and the left stuck together we'd be in danger of even losing elections in deep red states.

Trump is a clown, so I'd never vote for him. And what would the point of a Ron Paul 3rd party run be? We already have a libertarian party. I will say this though, I might make one exception. If the GOP actually nominates Romney and Governor Palin ran as a 3rd party candidate, I'd be inclined to vote for her. As she is my preferred candidate anyway, I am heavily biased in her favor. But my reason wouldn't be just that I like Palin. I am prepared for the fact that I may not get my candidate of choice. The danger with Romney is that he is so counter to the direction conservatives are moving that if he won it might have the effect of blunting the continued emerging conservative revolution. We'd be right back to having defend a RINO President, the way we were when Bush was in office - and the way we would have been had McCain one.

Supposedly he quit the run for President because he had some project to work on in Lousianna and several months ago he had mentioned he’d drop out if Alan West was running otherwise he’d choose Alan West as his VP.
