You have to quit KNOWING what the WITHDRAWAL symptoms are

The intense cravings for a smoke and insomnia are what gets most people to give up trying to quit

but it goes away in 3 or 4 days

plan a weekend around it- see my previous post

Yes, that could be what is happening, he was in remission, but got bad news from the doctor that it came back and there is no cure or hope for him, so he feel's it's hopeless and does not care anymore.
