I raised 5,and you know what,they never had weight problems.
They never saw cookies,chips,soda,or sugared cereal in the house. When we took our annual vacation we allowed that stuff and it was a real treat for them.
I always had a car and never drove them anyplace unless it was a great distance.
Parents really do have brains.
