Principles are what guide your decision-making. They aren’t a replacement for decision-making. On principle, I drive on the correct side of the road. If someone swerves into my lane, I could stand on principle and crash. But I choose to violate my principles and swerve out of the lane. SOme here would argue that this makes me a hypocrit, I say it makes me a human being with God-given ability to reason.

Extremely well said.

Actually, it was poorly said.

Acting on principle (and I am assuming the correct principle) means acting on truth, and you don't compromise the truth.

People without principle can always find excuses to compromise.
