How profound! The question was directed to me....numbskull.
Exactly.
In the last couple days Cain issued an apology for “offending” Muslims.
Colonel Allen West is a patriot, a conservative and a leader who possesses more courage in his little finger than you must in your entire body with a post like that.
But they are figuring out there has been a coup d’état in the party, and they are afraid.
was=wasn't. Guess I'm a numbskull as well.
Yes, I heard about that. The pandering is really getting disgusting.
Col West could have changed his vote and kept the insults to himself, he didn't.
The bible relates a story of John the Baptizer who was awaiting execution and having great doubts as to whether Jesus was truly the One.
When asked Jesus answered, Go tell him what you see here.
In other words His actions spoke the truth.
You said it best.
Listening to Laura Ingraham, siding with Boehner and West, this morning opposing Rush and the tea party on this issue has me baffled. This division will destroy us and help BO.
Reid's bill will get the vote of every Democrat. So it will only need a few dozen republican votes to pass. And aren't the tea party telling us that half the house republicans are RINOS waiting to stab conservatives in the back?
If you believe that, why do you think they WON'T find enough RINO republicans to vote with the democrats for Reid's bill?
The debt ceiling debate of August, 2011 is a battle within the overall war of November, 2012. Whatever we do now must place our cause in the best position to win in 2012, even if that means not fully advancing the fight now. Rep. West believes that a full out fight over this debt ceiling now plays right into the hands of the socialist dems and their willing media sycophants to paint conservatives and the Tea Party as raving lunatics to the general public in 2012 elections.
I agree with Rep. West. I think an all-or-nothing attack now would be like Pickett's Charge. Unnecessary and self-destructive.
I think you've been here too long to really believe that. :-)
“Reid’s bill will get the vote of every Democrat. So it will only need a few dozen republican votes to pass.”
And it still won’t be enough in the HOUSE. Get it?
“LOYALTY UP” to Speaker Boehner who does indeed lead the party in the House. Fine.
But, but but ... where’s the LOYALTY DOWN to those who voted for him, those who sent him money, those who talked him up and campaigned for him. To those whom this man represents?
It’s one thing to make political and policy decisions that disagree with those of thousands and thousands who put you into the office you hold, Mr. West, but when YOU mock us and ridicule our adherence to principles, that is what most good folk call dis-loyal.
He could change his mind on principle, and gave a reasoned statement for why. but he for some reason felt compelled to insult the very people that brought him into the House.
Rush said yesterday he would try to get him on today, I must assume he declined.
Rush also just said we are all Sarah Palin now, in the minds of the Washington Establishment.
Did you listen to him? The headline is misleading, as usual. West is saying he will go along with the Boehner plan because it is better than the Reid plan. Personally I wish all republicans would refuse to raise the debt ceiling, but it won’t happen. They always raise the debt ceiling and they will continue to do so. And West, understandably, does not want to cut defense spending, at least not by 400-500 billion. I still trust his judgment.
All of the “conservatives” who decided to mock the need for the rule of law regarding Obama’s eligibility need to realize - as lots of people are realizing now - that once you give up that foundation it’s just a slow (or quick) slide to anarchy. When Ingraham and the others let that basic foundation of civilization crumble it was only a matter of time before they gave up on everything. When you sell your soul to the devil in core principles, everything after that reflects the change in ownership.
None of these people understand that we are in a fight for the existence of the nation. There are 5 seconds left and we are behind by 2; only a “risky” 3-point basket will pull this off. Stalling is the tactic of the democrats because they know that the nation without a drastic change in course is history.
The R’s need to learn that if the nation is lost, there won’t be any election for them to worry about winning. There is no overtime to strategize for if the opposition stalls the clock away.
Some are playing to tie, thinking they can then win in overtime. But either way, the nation will be lost until somebody dives in and does what needs to be done. If they’re not willing to do it now, why should we believe they would be willing to do it in overtime?
Unless they’re thinking that they can stall because we’ll get more on our “team” in overtime and be able to do it right, with House, Senate, and White House control. But that will depend on them convincing the “team” that they have the guts to do what it takes, and trashing “the team” is not the way to do that.
How has West flip-flopped?
“He’s still the exact same guy. He is merely arguing for different short term tactics in a longer war, not against conservative principles. “
I see... So calling Tea Party members schizo’s and then saying they are backers of Pelosi and Reid is a tactic.. Was West one of those commanders that shot his soldiers as a tactic too?
If you are going to make a point, try not making an asinine one.
