I love your spirit. If they can succeed in wrestling an uncompromising immediate cut out of the Dems, then godspeed, but I don't see any realistic chance of that happening.

As much as I appreciate the newfound principle, I don't see how we can win this politically absent a compromise increase. We're already losing the PR battle (shock) in the MSM.

It’s been hard to see a clear path forward on this changing situation. I know mine is a less-widely trumpeted position here on FR, and granted, maybe I'm mistaken, but as painful as it is, when you're in a minority position, as we are on the Hill, you take the best deal you can get to minimize the damage to the country (unquestionably our first priority), and try to avoid being politically eviscerated, which is what will happen to us if we don't compromise, and the result is either a partial government shutdown or negative economic repercussions (genuine or ascribed). 2012 is perhaps the last big chance to fundamentally reverse what Obama has wrought, generic Republicans are outpolling him; we should not sacrifice the enormous opportunity to do good then, with a largely symbolic one now.

To hell with the PR (propaganda) battle. We, the tea party people will march on Washington again and again right up to election day!! We will support our tea party freshmen and send them reinforcements in 2012!!

Rebellion is brewing!!

The battles of Lexington and Concord begin anew!!

We have not yet begun to fight!!

Bullchit. The sooner this farce hits the wall, the better. Compromise? That’s so yesterday. Regardless of what happens with the vote, the next few years are going to be a repeat of 1855-1860. That is, before things got really “interesting”.

I’m with you. here is what I wrote on an earlier thread.

“There is no debt crisis that can’t be cured by scaling back our spending.”

And there is not going to be any significant spending cuts with the present admin and senate. We have to look at the big picture. Get a deal that looks reasonable and puts the Dims in a bad light as possible, but keeps the US solvent.

Then get Palin in there with a GOP Senate to turn Washington upside down, including tax reform and the elimination of baseline budgeting. This is our best shot.
