Nearly every commercial, from the "little blue pills" and "gels" to enhance sexual pleasure to Betty Crocker's microwavable deserts are packed with sexual innuendos, if not outright encouragement. Television programming follows suit, as you can see from this article. For parents of young children, it is a daily struggle to keep children engaged without the boob tube. Even the cartoons have degenerated.

We get along nicely without network TV and my kids are used to it. We watch sports, some cable channels like Food and History (although there is darn little history left) and, as I said, DVD’s of classic TV shows, along with DVD movies.
