A federal judge on Wednesday dismissed a lawsuit challenging the Obama administrations funding of stem cell research.
The lawsuit, filed by Boston biological engineer James L. Shirley, asserted that the funding violated a 1996 law prohibiting federal taxpayer money from supporting work that harms an embryo.
The Obama administration policy allows research on embryos that were harvested long ago through private funding ...
... The Court of Appeals overruled him, and (Judge Royce) Lamberth said Wednesday he is bound by the higher courts ruling and dismissed the case.
The White House hailed the ruling as a victory for research and patients. ...
Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.), the House Democrats chief deputy whip ... said ... The potential and promise of ethical embryonic stem cell research is too important for too many patients across our nation to leave it vulnerable to the whims of Washington and extreme agendas. ...
A true victory for research and patients would be for the Obama adminstration to fund adult stem cell reaseach that he cut when he expanded the funding for this boondoggle. The score so far is many medical victories usign adult stem cells and zero with embroyonic nt to mention the awful things that accomply ESCR such as odd cancers.
Dr. Oz (from Oprah’s program) said that embryonic stem cells turn into tumors. The people who want to continue to believe that embryonic stem cells will cure them and their loved ones are sadly mistaken.
