It’s not that Perry is horrible, it’s that Perry is an opportunist. He was a moderate Democrat who could see the writing on the wall in TX and chose the path that was easier for him in running against a Marxist moonbat. Gore was a lot more liberal in 1988 than many make him out to be, but only because he was identified as a “Southern Son of a Segregationist.” He did run as the more moderate alternative to Dukakis, but after that, he tossed all his “moderate creds” out the window and he chose the opposite route from Perry to take (but let’s face it, either one could’ve switched places with the other in where they wanted to go in order to win high office). Perry just isn’t the right one, and he’s been Governor of Texas for too damn long.

He is ... a politician. As are all the other candidates running. What can you do?
