PESHAWAR: 28 July 2011, in a bid to restart construction of 65 schools at cost of Rs220.58 million in Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA), Planning Commission has approved the plan, which was earlier termed as irregularity.
Earlier, the commission had reservations about the construction of the schools by FATA Secretariat resulting in stopping the development work.
The expenditures that were already incurred in connection to reconstruction of the schools were termed as irregular by the devolution and area development section of planning commission and the development work was stopped last year in the tribal areas.
The construction work on any such project is considered as irregular as foreign funded projects need approval from a competent forum, said an official of the commission
