When I was a kid (about 10) a friend told me that murder was not a federal offense. I couldn’t believe it. Turns out he was right. Murder is an offense that takes place within a state. Every state has it covered of course no need for the feds to be involved. I am absolutely against abortion. Absolutely in all cases. However, not the business of the federal government. The idea that a few folks rule over the rest of us-all 300+milllion-is what got us into this mess.Yeah, but suppose a state or more de-criminalized murder, made murder legal. Do you think the fed gov should intervene or just say "States' rights, s'okay"?
Making abortion a States' rights issue is exactly the same.

As EV has pointed out so very well, there is no such thing as "states' rights" because rights are given by God to the people. Governments, be they federal, state or local, have ENUMERATED POWERS.

In the highly unlikely event that a state makes murder legal the federal government should mind it’s own constitutional business. And no, I am not pro-murder. We are in this mess (and getting worse than you can imagine) because we have a mammoth and unstoppable central government. We are headed toward collapse because the states have shunned their responsibility. Life as we have come to know it in America is all but finished. Thanks to the centralized government that you love so much.
