Re: your last paragraph...I get a chuckle out of Freepers that seem to relish in the idea of a true national default, and the chaos it would cause, failing to realize what it would do to those of us still managing to hang on in this economic fiasco. It’s almost as bad as the born-agains who gleefully await the end of days.
I agree.
Even if we don’t get a “default” if we show we are at least GOING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION with cutting the debt, we will avert the bond Market crisis, rising interest rates and a great chance at getting the Independents on our side for 2012.
I owe my bank $400K on my credit line.
I'm as vigilant as anyone here on FR, but I also don't relish the thought of seeing my interest rate rise because of a default.
And as icing on the cake, I'm also running a business in Commie-fornia, which technically means that I'm already on "Death Row"...
