I use a 9 dollar tracfone. I call it my dumb-phone. I have a buddy who used to be fun to hang out with before he got a “smart” phone. Now he’s got his nose in it constantly. I don’t hang out with him anymore.

I just don’t need all the crap on a phone. My tracphone has a camera but I’ve never used it. The only reason it has a cam is because i couldn’t find one without.

The reason I bought my iphone 3gs was I wanted my itunes and phone in one device. I use my phone occasionally but not often and I decided to pass on a data plan and went with prepaid. I seldom use the minimum $10 a month to keep the phone active. Getting an iphone for that was probably overkill since a lot of the uses that the phone has are not being exploited but I have been happy with it.
I don't check email. I don't twitter or facebook with it. At the time of the purchase a phone and data plan would have cost $60 a month and I thought about whether checking internet stuff while on the go was worth it or not and after thinking about it I did not want to become obsessed with the internet that much. The few times I have used the iphone for internet stuff I found the screen too small to be useful so it was a good move to say no.

People don't want to communicate face to face anymore.
They want to communicate via the gadget.
