If nothing serious can get done, fine. That is no reason to compromise.

I'd keep sending CCB back to the senate and every time it is rejected without a vote, I'd cut off a few million more in spending and send it back again.

They could even change the name of CCB, call it CBE "cut and balance eventually", but still make no changes.

But there should certainly be no compromise on what is right, just keep sending it over and over again. That is what I'd do, anyway.

In regard to morality, definitely.

In regard to governmental politics, there’s seldom a consensus on what is “right”, so theoretically neither side gets to have it all their own way (although Obama is doing his best to destroy that premise).

If the GOP gets the blame for a market meltdown (which could happen if the dems and media succeed in convincingly painting them as obstructionists to a fickle public), they’ll have shot themselves in the foot.
