I’m with you regarding holding the woman who choose to have abortions accountable. They can try and appeal to all sorts of extenuating circumstances, but morally, they are just as bad to me as the ones who kill their children after they are born, or throw them in a dumpster to die.
Unfortunately, most women who have had abortions don’t advertise the fact, so it’s hard to know if you are talking to a murderer or an innocent women who would never do that. How many women, if you asked them outright, would admit to it, and how many would lie out of shame?
If we can’t get abortion outlawed, I’d at least like a law that requires women to get some distinct tatoo mark every time they get one. Then, when I meet a woman, I can look at the back of her neck, and see how many innocent lives she has slaughtered. Heck, the liberals think there is nothing wrong with abortion, so they should have no problem with a “Scarlet Letter” type law for this, right?
Such could never happen (identifying mark for each abortion the woman has) - why? Think about it - the Roe decision that made abortion legal was based on what? Right to Privacy.
Now I have a question - what the heck does privacy have to do with having your baby murdered? The “logic” played out means that we should be able to murder anyone we want in the “privacy” of our own home - OF course that isn’t how it works... yet the court used similar logic in its Roe decision.

Want to help end abortion? First off, stop looking for scarlet letters (are you really that much better of a person than the ones you scourge?), and, more importantly, this from Fr. John A. Hardon:
We are only channels of grace to others in the measure that we are possessed of Gods grace ourselves. Let me repeat in the clearest words in my disposal. I would restate our thesis in two propositions.[emphasis: mine]
- Proposition #1 There is no stopping abortion without an ocean of grace from Jesus Christ. No way will human means stop abortion.
- #2 The principal source of this grace is the Holy Eucharist.
“Unfortunately, most women who have had abortions dont advertise the fact, so its hard to know if you are talking to a murderer or an innocent women who would never do that. How many women, if you asked them outright, would admit to it, and how many would lie out of shame?”
That’s just it - makes it very difficult to have a logical discussion about it.
I can think of 4 friends that did this in our younger years (late teens, early twenties). And that is just those that openly discussed it with me. How many never said a word?
And so - those who haven’t had one will still be close to someone who has (most likely)
The women I personally know? All,except one, were very early - quick!get to the clinic! The clinic workers give them the ‘ole “clump of cells” “product of conception” routine, and “let’s take care of this so you can get on with your life”
2 of my friends regretted it, and felt like they were lied to.
One was farther along - and her baby met a brutal ending.
so - the intense emotions involved make it extremely difficult to bring it up with anyone.
Defense mechanisms kick in, making it impossible to get these adults to focus on the humanity of the unborn child.
There is a group called Silent No More, where some women do come forward.
