My red heeler of 13 years is never more than three feet away. That means bathroom during the night, every trip from one room to another, up the stairs, down the stairs, kitchen table to sink, and so on.......as you get the picture. I will be something far less than I am today when she is gone. She knows when I’m even having a hint of a second of a bad day. She knows if I’ve got a scratch, sore back, or headache. If anyone tries to come into bed once I’m asleep, she’ll rip them a Cujo growl and snap. I will then wake and give her the ok for them to come to bed. Unfortunately my wife has never appreciated this kind of loyalty.

I can so relate to that.
My pal turned 14 a few months back.
(monitor getting a little blurry)
Every day is a blessing.
