By the way, I did leave town at age 11 but never lost my attachments to the city. I came back and went to Woodlawn High School and graduated from Bessemer High School and from the University of Montevallo (then Alabama College).
If you live in Jefferson Co. the fact you have a well and septic system won’t help at all. Even if you don’t use the sewer or water system, you still pay.
