4 miles W. of town is another small town, (has a PO and a mom and pop party store). That's all...
8 miles south of here is another PO but the town is at least a town with business's on main street. But a lot of empty buildings also...The gas station is the largest business, its always full of cars...
You have to go about 12 miles north to get another PO. But from that town west again 8 miles is another PO.
It seems just about every burg with one business also has a post office...they could close quite a few just in my area alone...consolidate to one with 3 windows and it would be fine...
The one 4 miles west has hardly any customers and when I wanted no lines, I would go there...
I am curious as to how many employee's these combined PO have and what type of salary and pension they get....I get rural delivery, mail box at the road.
One of those towns does not deliver if you live within 1/2 mile of the PO you have to get a PO box...(might be 1 mile, I moved out 10 years ago and forgot the distance) I got home delivery but those in the middle of the little town all had PO boxes...don't know if a PO box cost money or not...
I live in Ignacio, CO
Everyone within the "city" limits has a POBox, no home delivery. Businesses get charged for the Box, citizens do not.
This is a SMALL town and surrounded by Tribal land.
