In response to another post, I don’t think he did this spontaneously. He claims (and I must emphasize that) that he’s been planning this for nine years. Certainly, that’s quite enough time to write a 1,500 page book (most authors can do it in less time), and seeing as how apparently he “borrowed” from other sources, he could probably knock this out in a year or two, depending on how much free time he had.
If THAT’S the case, this is not your average looney-tune we’re dealing with here. This is one cold-blooded premeditated atrocity, and a clearly deranged individual.

I don’t understand why more posters have not read the manifesto.
In the final 150 pages the killer goes into extensive detail as he builds the bombs.
currently about 1 am. I stayed up till 5 am this morning, then woke up around 9 am, and been up since.
To be fair, I don’t sleep much. Normally, about 4 or 5 hours a day is all I need.

As you point out, the bomb and bullets weren’t fictional. I don’t know, obviously. Scotland Yard is taking it pretty seriously.

I can’t blame Scotland Yard for at least investigating. They would be foolish not too. Abu Hamza (the Hook), the radical Islamist preacher, isn’t only the kook running around the UK, so when they suspect something may be cooking, it’s better to look into it before it all “goes rather pear-shaped” as the British like to say.
Norway is having elections in September. Before Friday the Conservatives were expected to gain. Now we have to wait to see if this event changes that expectation.
what exactly was his point of attacking a mass of white native Norwegian kids on the island ? You would think he would have directed his rage at muslim immigrants . Muslim youth gangs that have been raping white Norwegian women or the like ?

I'll tell you who he most reminds me of: Bill Ayers.
Bill Ayers and the Weathermen were very smart individuals who were willing to inflict mass violence as part of a long-term plan they believed would trigger political change.
Their plan involved bombings of government buildings and killing policemen and military personnel. An undercover agent present at their meetings stated they were willing to kill as many as 25 million Americans to effect their change. They realized it would take decades to realize their plan, and that they would have to make alliances with other radical groups along the way.
But Bill Ayers had an epiphany - he realized the most effective means of change was indoctrination of children over the long term. That is why he then devoted his entire career to influencing what the youth are taught in schools and gaining influence or control over school curriculum.
That is the epiphany that Anders Breivik should have had - that educating the young people of Europe, and de-programming the Marxist indoctrination of them is really the only viable way to effect the change.
The acts of terrorism by Breivik play right into the hands of those he is claiming to oppose.
If this is true, then various intellgence agencies should be able to find it out soon enough. Whether “we” would know one way or another, is another thing.

Several factors make me wonder if he was linked to Islamic terror groups after all:
1. Methodology of attack had a two-part Mumbai-like signature characteristic of AQ — Bombing followed by sniper attack.

4. Deception is a stratagem of war. Breivik lied to lure the kids near. Parts of the manifesto are lifted from other documents. Plagiarism is a form of lying. If part is lifted, none may be authentic.
5. In the manifesto he speaks of “contacting investors.” Muslim?
6. AQ has made recruiting “blond, blue eyed” westerners a priority. 8. He excuses the “minor sin” of sex with prostitutes because of the “grace” he will gain from being a martyr. That is an Islamic doctrine.
9. AQ has been training westerners at terror camps in Pakistan. The shootings seem to require professional military training.

11. The Facebook page is in English, he has no friends and was recently posted. Looks like a diversion.
12. The scale of attacks and threats by Islamic terror groups is far greater than any other threat. More than 99 percent of attacks have been by Muslims. So, at first glance we have a 99 percent chance to suspect jihad here as well.
