Tim Pawlenty manager Nick Ayers sent a blast email today to supporters making the case why Iowans will rally to the former Minnesota governor and Michele Bachmann will fade.
After reiterating Pawlenty's accomplishments in St. Paul, Ayers wrote: "This doesn't make great fodder for cable news but as more Republican primary voters start to tune in to the race, they are finding out that the Governors record and message will stand the test a brutal campaign. Other candidates records (or lack thereof), and plans for the future (or lack thereof) won't."
The manager also claimed they "had a record week of straw poll sign-ups."

...He successfully made the case, that in 2008, voters elected a member of Congress with no executive experience. We cant afford the cost of inexperience any longer, and Iowans get are getting that. He also made the case that we have a leading candidate for President who is running from his record and another who doesn't have a record. Governor Pawlenty is proud of his record. Iowans got that, too.

Tim who???
Tim Pawlenty is really starting to annoy me.
Granted, this was his campaign chief, and not Tim himself, but his entire campaign message is starting to resemble the yapping annoyance of hyperactive poodle.
Of all the contenders real and potential, he is coming in close to dead last in my estimation. Only Mitt and Newt are doing worse.
Precisely!
TPaw hasn’t and never did have a chance in hell.
I like Bachmann’s grit and conservatisim, but there is just something about Minnesota politicians that makes you wonder, even about the good ones.
The poll was not referenced. One suspects that it might be "well-stuffed", eh?
.
Damn...and we were gonna have spaghetti for dinner tonight.
"Hey honey...get out those steaks...I want mine rare!"
This is why we have the caucus/primary system. So we can see people exhibit their poor judgment saying garbage like this.
Pawlenty seems to have a thing for going after Bachmann. Stupid choice. His handlers are idiots.
All very good points. We need to remember that in the general election. If we just “run against Obama”; we will lose.
I liked Reagans “It's Morning in America” theme. That's the type of thing conservatives need to stand for. Even though he used in a re election theme; we still should run a positive forward looking campaign. There is plenty of good in this country left.
I could see Palin running that way.
I barely remember Pawlenty from the debates and nothing he said, only vaguely remembering him as somebody who kinda looked like Bob Saget from “America’s Funniest Home Videos”.
Hang it up, dude.
“Pawlenty seems to have a thing for going after Bachmann.”
That is simply because TPaw is, by far, the most inversely affected by Bachmann’s increasingly good fortune.
First off, he counted on doing well early in neighboring Iowa. But she was born there and is more their type of conservative. And is whooping his ass there.
But that is not the big reason. TPaw could at least hope (and cross his little TClaws) that the eventual Republican prez nominee might pick him for VP if he can get a respectable percentage of primary votes. However, if that nominee is Michele, then TPaw is the FIRST one eliminated for VP consideration.
No MN/MN ticket is going to happen.
(Unless maybe the Franken/Body 3rd party ticket takes off.)
“His handlers are idiots.”
I have a personal high regard for TPaw’s main guy, Vin Webber. Don’t know if he is the one driving this. I would doubt it.
I also don’t know why the silly Rove/Rollins/Romney conspiracy theories never mention the fact that Vin was Romney’s guy last cycle. Now TPaw’s.
Hmmmm.... Romney promised TPaw the VP if he can take down Michele.... yeah, yeah, now I see it... VIN WEBBER is #2 from Austin TPowers... clean looking and professional, but ready at any moment to push Bachmann into Romeny’s tank of sharks wearing frickin laser beams.
Pawlenty may be right but his IMPLICATION that pawlenty is long term viable is laughable.
