A Nurse going to be driving a Humvee in convoy duty. That is absolute BS. What a waste for an RN. She needs to be taking care of the wounded and not driving convoy duty or being a gunner. Stupid Army!!!
everybody should be able to man every weapon and drive the vehicles they ride in. If they're attacked and driver or others are disabled it would really suck to be stuck with nobody up on the .50 or able to drive the vehicle when you might need to do both.
WRONG!! We had nurses, medics and other so-called non-combatants driving in Iraq simply because we had no choice - not enough bodies to do every damn thing. Besides, if the crap hits the fan and they are a passenger going to one of the many outposts, they better be ready to become a combatant or very dead. In that environment, there is no such thing as regard for the red cross. One of the smartest moves the Army, my Army, ever made was to train everybody to be ready at a moment's notice.
