1. If anyone could put up a sign, poster, flag, etc. things could get out of hand pretty quickly, and property values could/would fall. Personally, if I wanted to live in a ghetto, I’d go buy a house in my boyhood home located in the Newark, NJ area. 2. If someone doesn’t want to adhere to the rules of the Homeowners Association, they shouldn’t have moved there.

Right On! This is why I live in an HOA. We all bitch about something that they require us to do but the other side is when anyone that visits my neighborhood they tell us how well kept up it is. Nuff said.

I have no problem with my HOA other than the current lawsuit against an adjacent sub which is responsible for keeping our access road repaired. Meaning, it needs to be completely resurfaced, we won in court and they are now appealing.

I also have no problem with my HOA's regulation disallowing lawn signs considering more than half the people in the complex are Democrats and would have had John Kerry or Obama for president signs posted on their front lawns.........

Our HOA laws also prohibit the leasing or renting out of your property......you may not like that but we currently have two places being rented out. One to some kids who love to work on their cars in their garage and another unit who loves to let their dogs run without leashes.........We're fighting the owners in court right now.......

As I said, I have no problem with HOA's, they helping to keep my sub livable and civil......
