Senior Al-Qaeda leader Ayed al-Shabwani was killed in fighting in Yemen this week, officials in Yemen announced Thursday. He had been on the government's “wanted” list for some time.

Shabwani was among the leaders of an uprising in Yemen aimed at ousting the government and seizing control of the country in the name of Al-Qaeda and Islamist rule. The uprising has so far succeeded in creating an army and establishing its own capital in the southeast of the country.

Shabwani was believed to have been killed in an airstrike in January, but was later found to have survived. He had been implicated in several attacks on Yemen's army and police officers.

At least 19 other Al-Qaeda members were killed in fighting in Yemen on Wednesday and Thursday. Thirteen soldiers were killed as well. Fighting took place near the town of Zinjibar in the Abyan Province. An estimated 90,000 people have fled the region...

And the Yemeni government that did this good deed is the one targeted by the Arab Springers, or the one established by Arab Springers? Things have been confusing lately.

“He will be missed on Fridays.”

No worry. They didn’t miss him when it counted.

There are some Muslims who argue that 72 virgins is wrong, that it was 72 raisins. They believe that this was a mistranslation that crept into the Koran, like the word that was originally young woman or maiden that was translated as virgin in the King James Bible. This sounds logical as 72 raisins or grapes would have been a real treat to nomadic Arabs. However, by the time of the Caliphate and greater literacy and luxury, 72 virgins would have been more of a reward.

Meanwhile, the fight goes on in Libya. More NATO strikes in Tripoli. Here is a recent ping with a number of other related pings within.

To be sure the hacking and whacking continue un abated. I wonder when the NATA and none NATO nations pull out, and leave the Brits and French high and dry on this one. The Colonel is going no where unless they carry him out wrapped in a cloth to a ditch for burial.

Just got back from a trip. I was very sorry to see that General Younis, the Gaddafi defector who was helping the rebels with their military efforts was assassinated. Here are two articles following up on the most recent events in Libya. It appears that an Islamist faction may have done the dirty dead, then again they could be Gaddafi plants.

In an effort to exert greater control over the situation the rebel coalition central command is acting.

In thick fog, one sees neither the left hand nor the right hand. Doubt the truth from the assassination will ever be known. Too many liars are the norm, as are each sides' intentions when dealing with either side. When hearing the phrase New Normal, cannot help but wonder what is the definition of Past Normal verses New Normal.

Just got back from a trip.
Great to have you back. I pray you are rested.
