To say there was a LOT of pressure on law enforcement to find suspects would be an understatement.
LAPD also has to answer to the Police Commission and only a year ago was released from the Consent Decree (federal oversight). They are being squeezed from so many sides there isn’t much room for “their own agenda,” imho.
