A bomb blast near the U.S. Embassy in Tblisi, Georgia, in September was traced to a plot run by a Russian military intelligence officer, according to an investigation by the Georgian Interior Ministry.
Shota Utiashvili, the most senior official in charge of intelligence analysis for the ministry, said in an interview with The Washington Times that the recent spate of bombings and attempted bombings - including what he said was a blast targeting the U.S. Embassy - was the work of Russian GRU officer Maj. Yevgeny Borisov.

Any treaty signed with Russia isn’t worth the paper it is printed upon. Perhaps a century from now Russia will join the circle of civilized nations. But don’t count on it.

I think Georgian President is developing in terms of mental illness.
Just recently he has busted a ‘Russian spy ring’ of journalists who has critisized him for cracking down on liberties. Even his personal photographer was claimed as on of the spies.
These accusations are just ridiculous.
How does Russia to benefit from that blast?
It is a Reichstag fire. He is doing it to label his opposition faking evidence of their links with Russia and embassy is choosen to attract attention here.
