Col. West is craftier than he looks. He deliberately picked this fight with Debbie because he knew she would be totally discombobulated that a Republican would actually dare to hit back. Predictably, she pulls the woman card and runs to her sisterhood and whines that he’s a big old meanie. Unfortunately, she doesn’t realize she’s not dealing with a jelly-spined RINO. West, like the other Young Guns did not spend his formative years on Capitol Hill when it was a dem plantation. He does not tiptoe around in a defensive cringe, terrified of doing or saying anything that will have the NYT calling him names.
From here on in, everytime one of liberalism’s sacred cows throws a tantrum and the object of their wrath does NOT cower and grovel before them, they will rapidly lose their power to intimidate.
I hope the new generation goes out of their way to provoke the Left into paroxyms of garment-rending rage.

Don’t poke me in the chest. —that is sheer music to me. What a perfect ear he has for the response. West may be the fighter conservatives need.
I wish they would do exactly what you said however, since not one of them went after Harry Reid yesterday, it’s safe to say it’s business as usual. As Reid stood before the cameras and admonished republicans for not staying in session this weekend, a republican should have been standing next to him, laughing and asking why Reid’s class went home ANY weekend since they never even bothered to pass a budget.

I think you are quite right. His background as a military commander means more than strong self confidence. His confidence is backed by good training in strategy and situational awareness. I hope you are right about the rest of the new generation similarly having more spine. I think there is good reason to hope for that. LtC West is breaking the trail for them that's for sure.
