Col. West is craftier than he looks. He deliberately picked this fight with Debbie because he knew she would be totally discombobulated that a Republican would actually dare to hit back.

I think you are quite right. His background as a military commander means more than strong self confidence. His confidence is backed by good training in strategy and situational awareness. I hope you are right about the rest of the new generation similarly having more spine. I think there is good reason to hope for that. LtC West is breaking the trail for them that's for sure.

As far as "going back to outlawing abortions," as she says; abortion was legal in all 50 states, prior to Roe v. Wade, for danger to the life of the mother.
