Two wolves fight to see which wolf is bigger and badder.
Stage 3:
No more democracy.
Democracy in Iraq.
Step 1:
America invades and the people greet them with flowers and hurrahs, tear down statue of tyrant.
Step 2:
Low-life die-hards kill American troops and Iraqis. Leftists quickly proclaim that this is the Iraqi people fighting back against an invader. Low-life die-hards, reinforced with terrorists from out of town, echo the call.
Step 3:
American administration, confronted with this new reality has a hard time coping and all hell breaks loose for a while. Left claims we’ve already lost and time to leave ASAP.
Step 4:
American administration sends in more troops, while Iraqi people get thoroughly fed up with Iraqi low-life die-hards and their Islamofascist buddies, and throw in their lot with the Americans, who have shown they are not running any time soon.
Step 5:
New administration in America happily capitalizes on the hard-won advances of the previous administration, and stays a little longer. Fragile Iraqi democratic institutions put forth fragile roots and branches.

Americans leave. Iraq: ?
