Buddy Roemer formally launched his presidential campaign on Thursday, trying to cast himself as a viable reform candidate instead of the quintessential long shot.
The former Louisiana governor detailed his Free to Lead campaign theme: hes promising to limit contributions he accepts to $100 per person, swear off PAC dollars and target the influence of Big Money on politics.

Just what everyone has been clamoring for. Roemer to run. I guess Huntsman needed company in last place. This looks like a campaign designed to lose. Money is what is needed to go against Obummer. This limiting donations stuff is for House and dog catcher races.

Was he the one who bragged that the only way he could lose an election was if he was found in bed with a live boy or a dead girl.

Former Democrat
In March 1991, Roemer switched to the Republican Party just months before the state elections, apparently at the urging of Bush White House Chief of Staff John H. Sununu. Ironically, Roemer, as a new Democratic governor, had appeared at the 1988 Republican Convention in New Orleans to greet the delegates

At least we know who Pat Paulsen is. I had to look this guy up. What a totally unnecessary candidate.

The guy was a democRAT his whole life just until his last year in office as Governor of Louisiana. No thanks, I'll pass.

The Republican field is strating to look like the movie “Freaks” if it had been done by Cecil B. DeMille....

No, that was Edwin Edwards, former Governor of Louisiana who just got out of federal prison and is now in a halfway house.
Buddy Roehmer never made a colorful or controversial statement in his life. He may be a spoiler with regard to the Huntsman juggernaut though.

Roemer, G. Johnson, Huntsman, McCotter, aka the 2012 Presidential campaign trivia all-stars.
Seriously, gentlemen, ... You, along with Gingrich, Santorum and Paul, don’t stand a chance. Exit the stage, end the charade and go find a worthwhile endeavor. You’re clogging up the scenery.

But he is very good at it. He has a lot of experience as a totally unnecessary governor.

At least Pat Paulsen didn't take himself seriously. Those also-rans who do and come back for repeat performances are little more than a modern-day

He may give Thaddeus McCotter a run for the 10th spot.

LOL. Funny you bring him up. I was about to respond to someone that Stassen had to start somewhere. Maybe this is Roemers “Get to know me” phase in the long road as the perennial candidate.
