These are the words of a retired Special Forces colonel who took the time to explain the situation to me. I have his permission to share it.

The more you study and begin to see the Iranian/Islamic strategy you conclude that it is oil-driven. In fact, they gave themselves away a decade ago when they started whining “it is all about oil” when we intervened in the area; we missed the point because the USA countercultures took up the whine as their own, and we dismissed it.

Iran is not an oil producer but they can, in their view, seize a majority of the world’s production, and intend to do so. The STRATFOR intelligence reports make this pretty clear. They do not have to defeat the USA—although they would savor that accomplishment. All they have to do is “oil production blackmail,” threaten our import of oil to reach a hand’s off stance here while they take over there.

We can ultimately defeat that strategy without firing another shot with a weapon we already possess. The basic three word weapon is ”DRILL, BABY, DRILL.” [HERE IN THE USA]

The arguments about “taking time” avail nothing—the Iranian/Islamic campaign takes time too. American liberals use the “alternative sources” track as an excuse for doing nothing. While the enemy is on their track, the USA should be on our own. The USA track is NOT alternative energy—which does take a long time, and is an apology for doing nothing about the threat from our enemy.

“DRILL BABY, DRILL.”
