I've been plagued with migraines for years. So when the Daily Caller reported that GOP presidential hopeful Michele Bachmann has had severe migraines, it took my colleagues but minutes to propose that I write on the controversy.
I resisted, but this story is a big talker. I've got a personal angle. I'm a columnist. What else could I do?
Some people give migraines; some people get them. We, the chosen few, do both.
According to the Daily Caller's anonymous sources, the Republican congresswoman from Minnesota takes medication to control her migraines - which, she confirms, sometimes have been "incapacitating" and which her campaign denies. The unnamed sources leaked the story, they said, because they worried that Bachmann's migraines could affect her performance in office, as well as present a winning opposition issue for President Obama if she garners the GOP nomination.
Do they have a point? I suppose. I've had days when I was in so much pain that I could not write. I wouldn't trust myself to pilot a plane.
Then again, with or without a migraine, I would have trouble keeping up with Bachmann's nonstop schedule.
This controversy takes care of itself. Bachmann faces months under the pressure cooker of high-stakes hardball presidential politics - the mother of all migraine triggers. She's at a disadvantage. When you're running for president, you can't ask town-hall sponsors to turn down the bright lights and ask participants to speak really softly.

I get migraines, does that mean I can’t be President either?
Depends. Are you conservative?
Bachmann’s response if I were her speechwriter:
“I may get occasional migraines, but Obama has caused a 3 year long national migraine, and I am the medicine for that.
Yes...
Any little nit-pickin’ thing they can do to make it sound like someone is not capable of holding office...
I’d tell her to Soldier Up!!! And do what she does best...
Then I’d tell the media to get a friggin’ life...
Oh, wait a second...I knew there was a reason I had the “short pier” built for folks to take long walk on...Yeah...That’s a better idea.../sarc
Taking imitrex can knock out a migraine within an hour. Triptans are about the only class of drugs that can treat a migraine once you have one.
And then there are the beta blockers if taken daily also help prevent them.
She should also take the following supplements daily: butterbur, feverfew, riboflavin and magnesium.
Stress is a big trigger for migraines. She will have many.
Love it!
I heard FDR was in a wheelchair, yet he was the greatest according to libs, right?
And what about menstrual cramps, or menopause? Should we, in general, disqualify female candidates?
What is she gets pregnant?
Lots of ways to retort here. Bachman should proactively fight back.
Obama has terminal stupidity and that hasn't stopped him...
For starters, FDR and JFK were on big drugs for pain....JFK was often under a narcotic fog for his back pain....however the difference of course is those two were Democrats and Bachmann is a Republican and Conservative....the latter being poisonous to Progressive Socialists.
Goody’s Headache Powder knocks out a migraine in 5 minutes flat.
When did the MSM get around to talking about Slick Willie’s medical records??
if they are comfortable with obama being bi-sexual, her headaches shouldn’t matter

WHAT DOCTORS HAVE TO SAY ABOUT KENNEDYS BACK PAIN
MSNBC
Presidential candidate John F Kennedy acknowledgment that he suffers from horrible back pain has sparked debate about whether his chronic back pain and numerous other ailments that require him to take as many as eight medications a day to manage them, should keep him out of the White House.
Kennedy says his pain is controllable, but news reports say that, over the years, Kennedy has been in and out of the Hospital and has missed many days on the congressional floor because of debilitating back pain. He has not released information about the frequency of the pain but says he takes prescription medication daily to control the symptoms.
Some reports refer to Kennedys condition as chronic. If thats true, then, in the strict medical sense, that would mean he suffers debilitating back pain 15 or more days a month for at least four hours a day, says Houston Dr. Randolph Evans.
Even if theyre not chronic, debilitating back pain could be a huge problem for somebody whos president, says Evans, adding that about half of all back pain sufferer are debilitating enough to force a sufferer to lie down.

So who knew? I’m ineligible to be President!
But someone with foreign parents and no American documents is fine.
I already thought Pawlenty’s a d*ck. This doesn’t change my opinion of him.
Is this writer also a pilot?
