I admire your choices and applaud the Christian training of your children. I also am glad they are following Christ. However, lest anyone misunderstand, this kind of upbringing is still no guarantee of children turning out to make the right choices. Many Godly parents are racked with guilt and despair when one of their children go astray, thinking, “Where did I go wrong?”, “What did I fail to do?”...when in reality that child made the choice to reject his parent’s teaching and must stand alone before God.
The vast majority of the time it is a decreasing consistency in the determination of the parents that causes what you speak. Then sometimes, the parents begin down the right course because they see it working in other families, but the internal guidance (Holy Spirit) is just not there---maybe never was there.
Your remarks seem to be almost seeking failure. We depend on the promises of God, and an abiding Holy Spirit.
What we are talking about is not an anomaly, but based on Scriptural principal and design, and success -- SUCCESS -- SUCCESS is enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of families nationwide, who know both they and their children are sinners, ruined, but for Jesus Christ and the grace of God.
We are not talking about a "philosophy" (Colossians 1:8 !!)of child-rearing or education, but about the very real PROMISES OF GOD to His children.
And, of course, the point I was making is: Culture means NOTHING where Christ means everything.
