Why doesn’t Netflix simply stream everything?

They are trying, and they are now the single largest bandwidth user on the net, beating out the bit torent piracy, but some studios are balking, and the ISPs are trying to prevent it. Time Warner, Comcast, AT&T, etc. are all putting in bandwidth caps to try and keep people on their video services rather than people just using Netflix or Hulu or Amazon. Unfortunately the ISPs have bought off Congress and many local/state officials so that their monopolies remain in place, allowing them to screw us like this.
