Yeah, I got a Reckless for doing 80 on a 65. 80 mph is reckless in VA no matter what the spped limit or road conditions. Reckless is also a misdemeanor than can result in jail time. I had to hire a lawyer, take a day off of work, drive to Fredricksburg, take initiative to take a safe driver class, and incur the stress of possibly losing my job (requires a security clearance) over speeding just so the judge could reduce the charge to simple speeding at 79 mph. What a waste of time, money, and energy that was.

“What a waste of time, money, and energy that was.”

Yeah, but you got to contribute some feed calories to the Judicial/LEO industrial monster.

You must not have gotten the right trooper - the one who pulled us at 82 knocked it down to 79 right there 'just in case' his/our instruments were off by a tad.

Sometimes people can be really hard-nosed about speeding.

I got a big speeding ticket in MO a few years back for 87 in a 70 and got it in my ‘06 Subaru WRX Turbo. They didn’t even let me plea bargain the ticket and to add insult to injury, since I had AFB sticker (DoD contractor), my employer was notified from the base who was notified by MO and they were not thrilled.

The only good thing was Colorado does not count out of state minor tickets against you - no points and no record that is.
