The 234-190 vote sends the "cut, cap and balance" plan to the Democratic-controlled Senate, where it has virtually no chance of passing.

Without the eventual repeal of 0bamacare we are done for eventually anyway.
It must go or else we are just kicking the can down the road again.
Obama framed this issue last week - during his press conference. He said the Republicans and Tea Partiers would vote and pass some silly bills before they pass the real deal.
He framed the issue and Republicans allowed him to frame today’s vote. Calling it a decoy and political ploy.
He said - in the end - he would win.
WHERE IS HER LEGISLATION?
She's nothing but TALK.
Good point.
Since I moved back to Minnesota this month I haven't reconnected cable and I swear my blood pressure is 20 points lower on the average...
If I may be permitted to “revise and extend” my previous remarks......
Through the years I have taken great pride in being (jokingly) a Male Chauvinist Pig. But with our Nation in the mess it is now; I can’t wait to spring into action campaigning, raising money and voting for Sarah Palin. Come onnnn, Sarah!
Will Levin still be in the tank for MB(my rep)? I think Levin and Hannity supported it along with alot of Tea Party sen. like Rubio and Rand Paul and Demint. They could not do much in the senate so they supported the house.
I’m fine with that too. She made her feeling on it quite clear.
I think I’m starting to understand why so many of our presidential candidates have made sure to put some distance between themselves and elective office.
What does Ron Paul have to say about it?
That has been extremely troubling to me too. While completely wrong in every way on the issues, Zero has absolutely played Pubbies like they’re absolutely lost. It has been a pathetic display by the pubbies. No, it has been horrendous.
What do you mean? We want every member on record in both chambers for 2012.
Aren’t there 1 trillion in tax increases in this bill? Or am I confusing it with some other bill?
This bill left a big loophole.
Yes. You are confusing it with the “Gang of Schmucks” plan in the Senate.
Act is getting so damned tiring! That : "I'M FOR IT", but then voting NO ( supposedly because it didn't go "far enough" ) is just trying to have it both ways and makes her one wishy-washy, spineless hack.
Thanks, been away from the computer and (half) reading multiple threads playing catch up.
“She’s nothing but TALK.”
Well, she has repeatedly, for months, TALKED about the fact that she will vote for no debt ceiling increase that does not repeal Obamacare.
If you were paying attention you would know this.
Bachmann Statement on Cut, Cap and Balance Vote
Washington, Jul 19 -
Congresswoman Michele Bachmann (MN-06) submitted the following statement to the Congressional Record regarding the Cut, Cap and Balance proposal tonight:
Mr. Speaker, I rise in opposition to the motion before us. While I embrace the principles of Cut, Cap and Balance, the motion does not go far enough in fundamentally restructuring the way Washington spends taxpayer dollars. The principles found in this bill are a step in the right direction toward the fundamental restructuring we need in the way Washington spends taxpayer dollars.
Along with cutting spending, putting in place enforceable spending caps that put us on a path to balance and passing a balanced budget amendment, we must also repeal and defund ObamaCare.
We must remember that ObamaCare is the largest spending and entitlement program in our nations history. That means, at a time when we can least afford it, President Obama added to our spending problem by the trillions. Without its repeal, we cannot have real economic reform.
At a time of trillion-and-a-half-dollar deficits and 9.2 percent unemploymentit was jaw-dropping to hear the President say this past Friday that we need only "modest adjustments" to fix our economy, and to suggest that 80% of the American people want a balanced approach, meaning tax increases, to solve our debt problems.
He also said that, We dont need a constitutional amendment to do our jobs. But we have the problems we do because Washington hasnt been doing its job. And a Balanced Budget Amendment would have kept President Obama from adding more than 4 trillion to our national debt.
The current negotiations over the debt ceiling illustrate exactly what is wrong with Washington.
We should not continue to spend and borrow trillions that we dont have just because thats always the way politicians have done things in the past. Those days are over.
The American people have had enough.
The President needs to stop scaring our military and stop threatening default. Last Wednesday, I co-authored a bill that would remove default as an option and guarantee that our military was paid first. We can meet our obligations, keep our bond rating and keep our promises, but we have to make the tough choices now to turn our economy around and put Americans back to work.
1. They have passed a bill that raises the debt ceiling. The majority of the American people are in favor of that.
2. They have passed a bill that cuts spending. The majority of the American people are in favor of that.
3. They have passed a bill that calls for a balanced budget amendment to the Constitution. The majority of the American people are in favor of that.
And, beyond simple majority assent, all three of the above items are inarguably the right thing to do.
Now. Do they stand their ground?
And will the Senate Democrats actually stand theirs? Will they dare to vote against a bill that does everything they've "asked" for?
And will Obama actually run his "bluff" and veto a bill that does everything he's "asked" for -- simply because it mandates a balanced budget amendment?
Who's on the high ground here, people?
Will they defend it?
We're about to find out...
Tune in next week...

Absolutely hideous. No doubt. As much as I don’t like Trump on the issues, I’d love to hear his take on this week’s Repuke stupidity blitz.
But just wait until next week!
