I know the company I work for is hiring, but I think part of that might be due to cost-cutting measures by the companies we contract with. It’s sometimes cheaper to contract out certain jobs than to keep them in-house.

We're hiring lightly...but way below customer demand. Engineers are regularly logging 50hrs/week.
Companies don't want employees anymore. They cost too much.
