He is proud to support the Respect for Marriage Act, introduced by Senator Feinstein and Congressman Nadler, which would take DOMA off the books once and for all," said Carney. "This legislation would uphold the principle that the federal government should not deny gay and lesbian couples the same rights and legal protections as straight couples. So I wonder when he will support legislation making marriage between a heterosexual male and heterosexual female illegal?
Call it a hate crime or the like.
"We've also expanded enforcement efforts [including so-called homosexual civil rights] to guarantee that in our work places, our military bases, in our housing and lending markets, in our voting booths in our border areas, in our schools and places of worship. And I mean all places of worship," Holder also said.

This proposal is nothing less than an OFFENSE Against Marriage Act!
To: Pyro7480
Because the DOMA prevents married Gay couples from receiving Military benefits, for one.

No big surprise but it always ticks me off the way leftists use the English language to deceive. 'Respect for Marriage Act', my patoot! It is just the opposite. Sort of like when communist dictatorships call their government 'The People's Democratic Republic' (as in North Korea). It isn't democratic, it's not a republic and 'the people' have no say in it. Just as the promoters of the 'Respect for Marriage Act' actually want to demean the age-old institution of marriage and make the term 'marriage' meaningless, thus turning the very institution of marriage into little more than a legal construct that has next to no real meaning as it has now been separated from what God has established. Individuals will still respect their marriage but the legalizing of same-sex 'marriage' and using federal law to codify it will eventually erode all respect for what marriage really is and always has been: One man, one woman, willingly joined for life and 'as one'. Homosexuals don't fit that simple description. Making absurd laws pretending that two men or two women are 'married' to each other because the government says so won't fool anyone, least of all, God. Of course, at the rate we're going He may one day be deemed 'illegal'. To quote Cole Porter's great (1934) lyric: ...today, anything goes".

Everyone knows darn well this is DOA in the house, just politics as usual vote pandering throwing red meat to the gays and gay supporters out there.
It’s only meant to ensure that every queer in the country will once again vote for anyone with a (D) after their name, hopefully pulling some Log Cabin republicans over also. The media will be sure to break down the vote count and make it crystal clear that not a single democrat voted against it.
