Rick Perry: Border Fence is "Nonsense"
In Shenandoah, Texas on August 28, 2009, Rick Perry tells Hispanic Chamber of Congress that "the idea that we're going to build a wall is nonsense." The wall being referred to would be on the southern border of Texas.
Youtube is just full of Perry RINOisms. You really should check it out sometime. I'm sure Obama's goons are compiling a formidable list of his pronouncements in favor of illegal aliens before he decided that he's interested in a Presidential run.
Yes there will be many conversations taken out of context.
His refusal to deal with illegals is one reason I’m not enthusiastic about Perry. He is solid on abortion, overall better than McCain, and electable, but he isn’t the most principled conservative candidate in the race.
Could we hear more than a 6 second sound bite? His position on border wall is more sophisticated, addressing state/local issues. At a local level there are areas where the fence went up that was “nonsense”. The geography of the Rio Grande complicates the fence location. For example, there are many Texans with border lands, some with homes located on the “mexico” side of the fence. They should have applied other security measures, which is exactly what Perry was suggesting.
