Oh! Right, the IDF will not study it, integrate the tech into their fighters, and then sell those fighters to all comers. Riiiiiight..!

They’ve done it many, many times. Why should US tax-payers finance the AF of the PLA?

Israel has short production lines and so to keep things affordable they MUST mmmmmassively export —it makes sense.

Why are we doing this? Why not improve things by ALSO selling it to the Chinese?

Cuz this is the same thing.

My favorite paragraph:

A key test of how much the technology transfer approach has changed will come in Japan, which recently issued a request for proposals for new fighters.< Japan has specified a high degree of technology transfer and work on the program, with an expressed interest in a domestic assembly line.

Ah, they love it so much they'll buy ZERO off the shelf, and they want all of the underlying technology, oooooookaaaaay......

Hey I'm sure they won't use that tech in their own products, you know?

I'm sure this is for real defense needs and not, say, getting the US taxpayer to subsidize their own fighter industry, right?

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHA...!

Exactly what airplanes have been built in Israel and sold all over the world? Other than a few bizjets, I mean.

IIRC Israel sold the ChiComs US drone technology. Think it was drones. They sold something to China they got from America.

It was bad.

Ever here of the Lavi? It's heavily based off the the US F-16. The Lavi was canceled but the project manager physically LIVED at the PRC production plant of the J-10 --they made really, really sure their customer got everything.

In fact, the Chinese weren't even secretive about it. All the missile technology was also transferred to China.

The UAV example cited immediately above was the Harpee, I think, which is somewhat of a cross between a UAV and a missile.

Israeli also transferred to China the Patriot missile.
