London Met Police Commissioner, Sir Paul Stephenson,, has resigned claiming that he had no knowledge of his police being bribed (corrupted by journalists).
I am frankly staggered by the scale of the fall-out so far. Sounds like there could have been hundreds of thousands of pounds worth of err extra-curricular payments made to the police by News International over the years. Personal favourite was the Green Book (?), containing the contact details of senior members of the Royal Family.
What boggles my mind personally is that if it had been a Muslim behind all this then we’d have had MI5 / MI6 etc. swinging straight into action - yet because it’s journalists working for NI that’s apparently not a problem?!?
