SS deductions are not truly taxes since they are contributions to provision for one’s future linked to an individual person.

Actually, they’re not. If someone pays into the SS system for their whole life and die before collecting any benefits and have no surviving dependants, their estate collects nothing from SS. SS is just another income tax.

Some annuities are like that too. That is why I compared SS taxes to annuities.
